ENSSCPA Sponsors One of Our Own in ‘The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis’
The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis is an incredible event where participants embark on an 80 mile journey across the Gulf Stream from Bimini in the Bahamas to the Florida mainland, on paddle boards. This long-distance endurance paddle challenge and international championship race is one of its kind, inspired by the undeniable health benefits linked to the ocean for people living with cystic fibrosis, which is a terminal lung disease.
This year, Ellrich, Neal, Smith & Stohlman, P.A. is sponsoring one of our own team members, Desirae N. McDonald, as she sets off on this remarkable journey to raise money, and awareness, for cystic fibrosis. Desirae is working hard to train for this challenge and we are so proud of the work that she is doing.
The crossing is taking place on June 22nd – 26th, 2022, where paddling vessels of all kinds will join together in their 80 mile journey. Some of the paddling vessels include:
- Stand-Up Paddleboards, 14′
- Stand-Up Paddleboard 12’6
- Stand-Up Surfboard (12′ and under)
- Stand-Up Paddleboard Unlimited
- Standup Inflatable Unlimited
- Prone Stock
- Prone Unlimited, OC-1, OC-2, OC-6
- Surf-Ski
- Kayak Single
- Kayak Double
- Rowing Single
- Dory (2-persons)
Known as one of the best months to cross from the Bahamas to Florida or vice versa, June is the perfect time for the paddlers to go, and the perfect time for Desirae to make a true difference.
The Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis supports the Piper’s Angels Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping patients and families in the cystic fibrosis community. The Piper’s Angels Foundation vision is to “provide the most socially innovative solutions to the cystic fibrosis community to empower each individual and family to live their greatest life possible.”
Ellrich, Neal, Smith & Stohlman, P.A. is proud to sponsor Desirae as she challenges herself and raises funds for such a worthy cause. To donate to Desirae’s 80 mile crossing journey, please click here. We appreciate your support!
