Our Shareholders

Smith, Stohlman, James & Gardere, P.A. was formed in 1988 and is one of the larger firms in northern Palm Beach County, Florida. The firm’s original founders are W. David Ellrich, Jr. and Becky B. Moore. During 1996, Karyl H. Neal, a longtime employee of the firm, was admitted as a shareholder. In early 2004 and 2008, Matthew Stohlman and Matthew Smith, respectively, became shareholders in the firm. Most recently, Terri Melton became a shareholder in January 2010.

The firm’s organization consists of a tax department, an accounting and auditing department, a small business department, and a litigation services department. Presently, we employ over 40 staff members.

We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Our firm is also a member of the Financial Consulting Group, LLC (FCG). This organization is a nationwide alliance of independent accounting firms who have pooled their knowledge base in the field of business valuation in order to increase technical competence and depth of staffing, and to develop new products and services.

FCG has valuation and litigation specialists in various industries and service areas, such as intellectual property, auto dealerships, professional practices, fairness opinions, healthcare, litigation, tax and many other areas. FCG promotes specialization within the business valuation/litigation field in order to have high-level specialists available within the firm for consultation on engagements. Collectively, FCG associates hold every major valuation designation available.
